EDUCATE ~ COMMUNICATE ~ ADVOCATE ~ EMPATHIZE ~

Whether you;

  • are seeking help with behavioral concerns

  • recently welcomed a new puppy into the family

  • recently rescued a dog

  • are simply looking to build a better relationship with your dog

  • or just about anything else

You have found

exactly

what you are looking for!

My name is Sage, and as a 10 year old girl fostering dogs, I wanted to keep and save them all without a single thought. After over a decade of rescue experiences, more than a thousand foster animals, working as a veterinary technician, and having found my overall purpose in dog training I find that the answer has been in front of us all along. Were speaking the wrong language.

My methodology as a dog trainer lies solely in maintaining, rekindling, and strengthening the relationship between you and your dog. I understand that dog ownership is not always rainbows and butterflies, it can be frustrating, demanding, and draining especially when you are dealing with reactivity or other behavioral issues. The amount of advice and information out there on what you should do to “fix” your dog can be overwhelming to navigate on your own.

No matter the lifestyle you lead, kinds of training you have tried, tools or gadgets you use, I will welcome you with open arms to help you and your dog in a way that benefits everyone.

With every dog being unique in their experiences, behavior, and personality the way they learn best can vary greatly. We will discover the true motivators for your dog, build strong handler engagement, and demonstrate confident leadership. Dog training does not happen overnight it is a build of mutual understanding and communication. My goal is not only to assist you in training your dog but have you leaving sessions thinking more like a dog trainer yourself. We will talk, play, learn, and explore together. Learning about your dog and their behavior while practicing effective communication techniques to help you lead a better life as a team.

You and your dog deserve a trainer who will stick by you through it all.

Meet “Artichoke”…

Estimated 6 year old - German Shepherd Dog

After being abandoned during a traumatic home eviction, Artichoke found himself fearful of people in uniform and struggling in a shelter environment.

His euthanasia date was set for June 27, 2024 in a local shelter.

I saw the loving dog beneath the fear. It took me 10 minutes to meet him and put him in my car. I couldn’t allow the fate he had written before him to become true. He has made incredible progress—enjoying vet visits, public outings, training, and making new human and dog friends since that day.

Dog ownership is a lot of things

And as a dog owner, you understand the weight of both that unspoken and unconditional connection.

Empathy and Safety are always my top priorities when working with any animal and/or their human(s).

Support, for those in need.

The United States of America has the highest number of dogs and cats in a single country overall, pushing 185 million. Hand in hand with this, our number of homeless pets is astronomical at over 5.5 million. Although we are at the top of the list when it comes to populations who go above and beyond for their pets, we also have an absurd amount of animals being inhumanely discarded, bred for profit, and abused which only increases the amount of estranged pets in our country.

Whether you are searching for a new companion, navigating a recent rescue adoption, or simply looking to learn how you can help make change, Wagging with Wisdom is eager to guide you.
